The market
Ontario opened Canada's first open, competitive online gambling market in April 2022, with dozens of private operators registered by the AGCO and contracted to iGaming Ontario. Operators pay a 20% share of revenue. The province enforces strict advertising rules, including limits on promotional inducements, which shape how offers can be presented.
What this means for matched betting
Ontario has the deepest operator field in Canada, with more than thirty sportsbooks operating through iGaming Ontario. The province's advertising standards restrict how operators may present inducements in public, so they are not advertised here the way they are in other markets. What the wide field does give you is pricing. Thirty-three sportsbooks is a great deal of choice when you need to cover a position, and while the Matchbook exchange is not licensed in Ontario, the province does have one regulated betting exchange alongside the sportsbooks.
Figures are indicative and can change as markets evolve. Always confirm current rules, tax and the legal age with the AGCO before you bet.
